Narrative and Recounts

Well done Aurora and Piero for turning in a great (still to be worked on) piece of writing.
Also well done to Sasha and Mitchel for listening to my words and sharing their googlebook with me this afternoon!!

REMEMBER you will have a lot of homework next year I am preparing you for this.  Your story needs to be turned in if it hasnt, it is now LATE.

Home Learning

Kia ora whanau,

Just a message regarding home learning.  YES there is home learning every single week.  The compulsory home learning sheets are...

1) Spelling - 20 words + activities which can be found in your child's book that was purchased at the beginning of the year

2) Maths Mate - A sheet comes home every week.  The first sheet is given week 1 and is sheet 1.

There are occasional assignments however I believe students should also have time to focus on out of school activities e.g. sports, friends and just good old 'being a kid'.  Too much extra school work burns most children out so I try to limit the amount of home learning to the basics.

If you would like more there are plenty of websites that can support your child with their learning therefore you dont need me to print off meaningless work sheets that your child will be bored doing.

Term 3 Timetable

Below is the Term 3 overview. This is just an insight into what we are doing on a daily. This will obviously change sometimes however this is usually what you will expect on a daily basis in Room 15. You can also find this on the Term 3 Timetable Tab.

Reading Learning

This week most of the groups have been reading informative texts about either reptiles or mammals and marsupials from around the world. They all had different learning objectives during their teacher instructed time however during their follow up activities they are all required to 'present their learning using google slides'. Have a look through some great slides.

So Sorry

I am so sorry I havent been posting on our blog. I actually forgot the password and username therefore I had to wait to have these re-set. However here we are again better late then never. I will try to post on here at least twice a week updating you on the class etc. The first post will be some of the kids learning that has been happening in class.
